Over the past few years, the Washington Dairy Products Commission (WDPC) has seen an increase in requests for financial support. These requests come from an array of vital organizations dedicated to educating the public about agriculture. As you might imagine, the Commission is not able to fulfill every request, regardless of worthiness.
Therefore, the WDPC Board of Commissioners determined that a more deliberate submission and approval process is needed to ensure the best use of dairy farmer funds, as well as ensure all requests for financial support are thoroughly reviewed and fairly evaluated. The Board of Commissioners determined that each request for funding will be evaluated on the basis of certain criteria as listed below.
Request for Financial Support Criteria
The program/event for which a request for financial support is submitted must include a dairy element that is described in the request, along with an explanation of how the dairy element fits within the larger program/event.
The program/event budget must be included in the formal request for financial support.
Requests for financial support will be received by the WDPC November 15th through December 31st of each year. Requests received before November 15th or after December 31st will not be considered.
The Board of Commissioners will review all submissions during the months of January and February and will notify funding recipients by March 5th of each year.
