Washington Dairy Products Commission

The Washington Dairy Products Commission, a state agency, is certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to manage producer funds collected for the purpose of building demand for milk and other dairy products via anumber of business development activities - including dairy promotion, consumer education, and issues/crisis management programs - that support Washington State's second largest agricultural commodity valued at $675 million.

Created by the Washington State Legislature in 1939 under RCW 15.44, the WDPC is directed by its Board of nine (9) Commissioners comprised of seven (7) dairy producers, one (1) representative of an in-state dairy processor ; and one (1) representative of the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA). The Director of the State Department of Agriculture appoints commissioners and oversees WDPC budgetary expenditures.
