Appel Farms

They produce Gouda, including mild, sharp, aged and smoked varieties. Flavored varieties include cumin, jalapeno, black pepper, sweet red pepper and garden herb); Paneer and Quark (including fat-free, low fat and traditional).  Their retail shop is open to the public; also their cheeses are available at farmers' markets and in some supermarkets.

Beecher's Handmade Cheese

Look for Blank Slate (and flavored varieties), Jack and flavored Jacks, Havarti, other seasonal cheeses.  The shop is located at Pike Place Market and visitors can watch cheese being made.  The cheese case specializes in Northwest regional cheeses.

Cheddar, Monterey Jack, mozzarella and other cheeses are produced for restaurant, foodservice and supermarkets. The retail shop is called Dairy Fair which sells cheese and dairy-related gifts.

Their cow's milk cheeses include Wynoochee River Blue and Havarti. Also make goat's and sheep's milk cheeses.   The farm's cheese shop is open on Saturdays.  Their cheeses are also available at Beecher's.

Golden Glen Creamery

Their cheese line includes Gouda, Queso Fresco, White Cheddar, Fresh Mozzarella, and Cheese Curds (or "squeaky cheese"). The farm store is open Tuesday - Saturday and 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from noon to 6:00 pm.

They are known for their Gouda (mild, sharp and flavors include cumin, jalapeno, fine herbs and peppercorn), Farmstead, and Mutschli (Swiss-style) cheeses. They also create a raw milk applewood smoked cheese.  The cheeses are available at the farm store and at Beecher's.

Signature cheeses are wrapped in chestnut and grape leaves, made from cow, goat or sheep milk, or a combination. There's no farm store but Sally Jackson cheeses are also available at Beecher's.

Samish Bay Cheese

Samish Bay Cheese offers a variety of fresh cheeses made from organic cow's milk including our award-wining Ladysmith as well as queso fresco, feta, and mozzarella (seasonally).They also make a variety of aged cheeses including Gouda, flavored Goudas, and Mont Blanchard Cheddar.They also offer two raw milk cheeses called Montasio and Port Edison.These aged cheeses are available in a variety of ages varying from mild to extra sharp.Samish Bay Cheese also offer extra aged "special reserve" cheeses which are specially selected from some of our oldest, most intensely flavorful cheeses and are usually seven to nine years aged.Cheeses are available at our shop, select farmer's markets, and several retailers around western Washington.The shop located at the farm is open year-round, seven days a week.Call for current store hours.

The creamery produces the world famous Cougar Gold, American Cheddar, Smoky Cheddar, Viking (jack), and Viking in various flavors.  Crimson Fire, a reduced fat cheese flavored with jalapeno pepper and cayenne, is a top seller.  Ferdinand's is their retail shop. Cheese can be ordered by phone or website and now can be purchased at Cougar Connections in the Westlake Mall.
