Abby Lohman, the 2012-2013 Washington State Ambassador, is the daughter of Dave and Annie Lohman. She lives on their 200 acre seed crop farm in Bow, Washington. Since she was eight years old, Abby has been active in 4-H, FFA, and the Washington State Junior Holstein Association participating is dairy showmanship at fairs as well as competing at the national level in dairy judging and quiz bowl.
As Dairy Ambassador, Abby represents one of Washington State’s largest agricultural industries. She is the official representative for the Dairy Farmers of Washington to the media and in all public service activities. As Washington’s "Ambassador for Milk", she will fulfill a vigorous statewide public appearance schedule, meeting with hundreds of school children, businesses and civic organizations to teach the benefits of including dairy products in a lifelong nutritional plan.
Abby is a 2012 graduate of Burlington-Edison High School where she was very involved in National Honor Society, FFA, and the school newspaper. She will be attending Oregon State University in the fall of 2013 to study Agricultural Education. Abby hopes to become a high school level agriculture science teacher or community agriculture educator.
Upon completion of her reign as the Washington State Dairy Ambassador, Abby will receive a scholarship to be used to further her education.
